Morning Session: Three Hours of COPE Credits

Evidence-Based Management of Progressive Myopia
A three-year perspective from UC Berkeley Myopia Control Clinic
This course covers A brief introduction of the UC Berkeley Myopia Control Clinic including its mission
and the clinic flow is followed by a overview of the demographic characteristics of the patients. A review
of the major evidence-based treatments utilized in this clinic will be provided, as well as a summary of
the efficacies of myopia retardation in each treatment.

Myopia Applying Research to Practice
This course will cover updates in myopia research and practice management. The content of the course
is geared towards private practitioners who are interested in learning more about how to develop a myopia control practice.

Corneal Reshaping - Options, Methods and Potential Pitfalls
Description While today there is a lot of emphasis on its use for myopia control this course will emphasize
the advantages that corneal reshaping orthokeratology provides in caring for patients that dont need it for
this indication. Techniques for successfully implementing corneal reshaping into practice will be presented
with an emphasis on enhancing patient lifestyle and sporting activities, contact lens related dry eye, and
correcting hyperopia and presbyopia. Potential Pitfalls will also be discussed.

Lunch Session

Wet Lab Training & Certification
The wet lab will provide the practitioner instruction necessary to fit Paragon CRT ® Contact Lenses and
hands on experience evaluating the lens on patient eyes. Practitioners not currently certified will have the
opportunity to take advantage of our onsite certification! There will also be Practice Management Consultants
to provide information on the marketing resources to begin the integration in your practice!
